Bob - Vocals
After all these early embryonic bands came and went, Bob started to branch out into playing a number of different instruments in radically different musical projects all happening concurrently rather than in succession as earlier. He took up hand percussion playing in the folk improvisation group 'Roots Progress' which saw him gig in a number of varied and sometimes bizarre places such as the New Forest festival and Broadmoor prison. He also played percussion in the roots and blues band 'Mark T and the Garden of Love' again performing at a number of interesting gigs such as the Cambridge folk festival (in the rain) and some BBC radio sessions. He also started singing at this time and was one of the singers and electric guitar player in improviso-stoner-funk rock trio 'Mesh'. He also took up the mandolin, played acoustic guitar and sang in the acoustic pop-folk band 'The Hat Shakers' (which also featured sometime 'Day Shift' lyricist, Henry Crud) who played a number of gigs, festivals and early Newbury Bypass protest events and released the CD 'All Thoughts'. After these projects had run their course Bob joined the band 'Tantalus' as lead singer along with Jason and Nick and writes for and performs on two of the band's releases, 'Jubal' and 'Lumen et Caligo'. Also at this time Bob started playing and performing live electronica and as part of a number of loose musical collaborations such as 'Trancemetropolitan', 'RMA' and the chillout-trance project 'Mr Sketchy' played at a number of clubs, parties and raves. Since September 04 Bob has just been working in 'Day Shift' and when he finds time, 'Mr Sketchy' and that suits him fine.
