Jason - Bass

Jason - Photograph © Richard PhillipsJason started playing music in his late teens, first on guitar, and then on bass. He played bass in several bands including 'Glass Revolver', 'Dilemma' (which also featured Bob on guitar - but not vocals), and a band called 'The Noise Band'. The other two members of 'The Noise Band' were not musicians, and the three of them would turn up at charity events promising to raise a significant sum of money. During their set, notes, chords and rhythm were all ignored, the doors were locked and the audience were told they had to pay enough money (to charity) to stop the band playing. This approach proved very successful on the few occasions they were allowed to play anywhere.

After a few years of playing in small local bands, Jason's musical activities began to diminish until he received a call from an old school friend, Max, asking him to fill the vacant bass position in his band 'Tantalus'. Shortly after Jason became their bass player, Bob joined followed by Nick.

Jason has played in a number of other bands including one called 'Jambee' and also played in various jam bands playing a variety of acoustic instruments such as mandolin/mandola, balalaika, dulcimer and banjo. The strangest of these sessions being with 'The Teacher Mike Cooperative' which featured a lap-top DJ, a magician and Jason playing balalaika & mandola.
